Real Madrid Team News & Preview
Real Madrid travel to Real Betis for this weekend’s La Liga fixture and Los Blancos will be looking to get back to winning ways.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have failed to win their last three league games and cannot afford to drop more points this early on in the season.
Real Madrid made a fantastic start to the season, winning their first three matches. But an injury to Casemiro cost the Spanish giants dearly. The Brazilian’s absence made them defensively vulnerable. Casemiro still has not recovered fully and it will be interesting to see how Real Madrid performs against Betis in his absence.
Zidane will be delighted with the return of Marcelo, but the Frenchman will be without his captain Sergio Ramos.
The major worry for his is the absence of Luka Modric. The Croatian has been a key player for Real Madrid in the last few seasons and his injury coinciding with that of Casemiro’s will be a major blow. James Rodriguez is injured and will miss the trip to Betis as well.
Predicted Real Madrid Starting Lineup (4-3-3): Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Pepe, Marcelo; Kroos, Isco, Kovacic; Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale
Real Betis Team News & Preview
Real Betis will be aware of Real Madrid’s injury problems and Gus Poyet will fancy his team’s chances here.
Betis are unbeaten in their last four La Liga games at the Villamarin and have lost only two of their last 13 on home soil too. They will be banking on their outstanding home form when Real Madrid come to town.
Defensively they have impressed this season and have conceded just two goals at home.
There are no injury worries for the home side. Alex Alegria is expected to lead the line for the hosts, despite Antonio Sanabria’s return to fitness.
Predicted Real Betis Starting Lineup (4-3-3): Adan; Piccini, Mandi, Pezzella, Durmisi; Petros, Brasanac, Gutierrez; Castro, Alegria, Joaquin
